Hey Happy People!
It’s a new month and here in the UK, it is also Black History Month.
For this week’s blog, I am going to be cheeky and ask for your help.
Back in July, a fellow photographer, Chin We, created this fundraiser to help freelance Black UK based women documentary photographers who have been hit hard financially because of Covid-19.
So far, the fund has raised just over £3,000 of the £20,000 target.
I read in a research conducted by the University of Stirling in the UK and the World Press Photo Foundation in 2018 that only 1﹪of participating photographers classify themselves as Black and this makes you wonder, how many of them were women?
We are certainly living in a crazy & difficult time, but the work must go on.
So please, if there is one thing you can do this month is to give back by donating or sharing this relief fund. Sharing is free, but donating even much better.
Click here to access the GoFund Fundraiser page to donate or share as it will be closing at the end of October.
For all those who have donated already, THANK YOU 🙏🏾
