Frosted Travellers, 2026 – Part of the ‘When We Forget to Look Up’ ongoing series
As I headed home after seeing a photo exhibition at Japan House by Kawada Kikuji and Iwane Ai, I felt inspired to go back to creating work around my observations and the everyday mundane.
Travelling down an escalator, I noticed this frosted glass walkway that led travellers with suitcases to the escalator from street level to the train platform.
Together with this still image, I filmed a short video and it was fascinating to see how the feet and wheels silhouetted against the glass looked.
