Thanks to 601tv, I was asked to join them in documenting the first of many events for the Black Cultural Archive.
This was a charity event organised by Black Cultural Archive in association with Harmony Productions and The Voice Newspaper dubbed Celebrating Women Variety Fundraising Showcase.
The event was to raise funds to build UK’s first national home to Black culture and heritage, the £6.5M Black Heritage Center in Brixton. A further £2.3M is needed to make this dream a reality and the community fundraising event kicked off on the 29th of March, 2009 at the O2 Academy Brixton.

To help bring the community together, the showcase was graced by the presence of comedienne Gina Yashere, Yolanda Brown (MOBO Award Winner), Kele le Roc, Ashley Walters aka Asher D (rapper/actor), Status Dance Group, Richard Blackwood, Omar and more. The hosts for the evening were Felicity Ethnic and Diahanne Rhiney.
