3 Financial Challenges for 2022

I guess you are wondering, what has this got to do with photography? Well, having finances has everything to do with photography. How else are you going to buy/upgrade/invest in your photography without any money? And this is why I am sharing these three challenges that you can set for yourself this new year. #FinancialGoals2022

For the longest time, I have been trying to save money or raise money for one thing or another. This year I have said to myself that I will set those financial goals and try to achieve at least one of them.

1. 52 Week Money Challenge – Backwards

Usually, for this challenge you would be saving £1 the first week, £2 the second and so on. By the end, you have saved £1,378 just in time to splurge for Christmas. Turning this challenge backward will see you starting largely with £52 the first week, £51 the second and so on that by the end of the year, the amount will be less to save just in time again for those Christmas gifts.

2. Round Up Change

This is easy to do and set up. All you need to have is a bank account like Monzo where you can set up a Savings Pot. Every time you spend money on bills, shopping, travel, etc. the amount is rounded- up to the nearest pound and that change is put in your Pot. You can even lock your Pot so you are not tempted to spend the change until a year is up.

3. Sell Items on eBay

This is one way I have found myself making money in the previous years. Any items that I have around the home that can be sold have ended up on eBay. The money that I make from the sales, I put them in a Monzo eBay Pot and don’t touch it for a month in case any problems arise and I have to issue a refund. This is also a good way to practice your product photography as good lighting, background and details are what make your items stand out.

Of these three financial challenges, which one are you willing to commit to for 2022? Let me know in the comments below if you do get to try any one of these.
