    Snapping London: Mushroom Bear

    Mushroom Bear, 2019

Another one where I was running late for a meeting, but just had to stop and take this photo. The first one is here.

Technically, I was on time, but I ended up at a different campus to the one I was supposed to be at. So on my way to the correct address, I saw this on the boarding for a building under construction and it did make me chuckle. My bad/disappointed mood about finding myself where I wasn’t meant to be, lifted.

Is this becoming one of those, ‘late photograph’ moments but with a different meaning?

  • Snapping London: Four Ducks in a Row

Four Ducks in a Row, 2019

I shot this image in Regents Park, London. I was running late for a meeting as I got lost looking for the meeting venue. I said, “What the heck, I am late anyway and I have my camera.” so I snapped away. This is one of the photographs I took as I walked around the park looking for the place.

It so happened that the meeting was running late anyway that by the time I found the venue, it had not started. So it was all good.

And no, I am not telling you to be late for meetings. Moral of the story here is just to make good of a bad situation. That is all!

  • Snapping London: Hybrid Elephant

    Hybrid Elephant (2013)

Back in 2013, a friend convinced me that we should venture the streets of London first thing Sunday morning.

Sunday mornings are for sleeping in, but not on this day.

We traipsed the streets of Shoreditch on our mini photo walk taking pictures of the tranquil streets before the Sunday crowds came out to shop, eat and chill.

I managed to photograph the graffiti Shoreditch is known for and this one by Puerto Rican artist Alexis Diaz was easily one of my favourites.

There are more, but I will share them in future blog posts.

Anyway, let’s just say after that day, I haven’t done another early morning photo walk and honestly, I wouldn’t mind doing it again. It was fun.

If in London, would you prefer an early morning photo walk or a night crawl?

  • Snapping London: Westminster Station

    Westminster Station, 2019.

Photographed this on my iPhone on my way to see the 209 Women Exhibition being displayed at Portcullis House 14 December 2018 – 14 February 2019.

Seeing as the exhibition was being held inside a government building, no photography was allowed.

  • Snapping London: Incinerator

    Incinerator, 2019.

Over the years as I have attended the Harrow Campus of the University of Westminster, I have photographed this Northwick Park Hospital incinerator a few times as a result of an unexplainable fascination with it.

This one was shot on my iPhone after leaving the campus library late. The first snowfall of this season had just fallen. Seen here as it is illuminated on the path leading from the station to the hospital.

Edited on Instagram before posting up on my feed.
