    EK13 / 30 Day Photo Project – June 2024 Introduction

    Better late than never.

    George Benard Shaw

    Hey Happy People,

We are back with the June Edition of the 30 Day Photo Project for 2024.

I am actually late with sharing this month’s instalment as well as the first few days in this month’s images. But you can’t tell as I managed to post on the actual dates there were meant to go up. That is the beauty of the WP blog features. 😉

Now that I have gotten that off my chest, for this month’s edition I will be sharing some of my favourite images from the Women’s Six Nations matches I managed to attend. I got a press pass to England v Wales at Ashton Gate in Bristol and the England v Ireland match at Twickenham in London.

I guess this is a good follow up from the April edition where I shared images of rugby fans outside of Twickenham.

So here is to the June edition of the 30 Day Photo Project of 2024.

  • Travel: Summer Family Holiday in Two Parts

    Hey happy people!

I recently shared on Threads that I want to start sharing more of what I get up to as a photographer on my YouTube channel. The only problem is that editing videos takes forever! 😩

But, guess what? I’ve finally finished editing Part 1 & 2 of my family trip to Paris last summer. I’m super stoked to share it with you all.

This trip was a special one as my husband got to join us. I normally travel with my kids and the last time he was with us, my daughter wasn’t born. I was really excited about it because of that and also, it was the first time flying since the pandemic.

So, why don’t you grab some popcorn, sit back, relax, and enjoy the videos? Oh, and don’t forget to leave a comment and subscribe to my channel if you like it. It would mean the world to me!

Subscribing will also mean you don’t miss it when I upload new content on my channel. 😉

    Thanks for your support!

  • EK13 / 30 Day Photo Project – April 2024 Introduction

What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything?

    Vincent Van Gogh

    Hey Happy People,

We are back with the first 30 Day Photo Project for 2024.

Yes, this is my first post since I concluded the daily blogging challenge back in January. Life has been pretty hectic to event blog once a week as promised. However, I am using this project as my motivation to get back to sharing some of my photographs and thoughts with you.

To kick off the 2024 edition of the the 30 Day Photo Project, I will be sharing with you some images to I took in early March. I applied for a press pass for the men’s six nations match between England and Ireland, but I was not successful. 😔😢

However, I used this opportunity to try out some street photography around Twickenham. So I packed up my camera and together with my daughter, we commuted to Twickenham to photograph some of the fans.

I had a list of images I wanted, but as soon as I arrived in the area, I knew this was not going to work as I had hoped. So, I just went with the flow and photographed the fans as they arrived at Twickenham around ‘The Spirit of Rugby’ sculpture that is right outside the stadium.

This was a good exercise for me to approach people and ask if they would like to be photographed, as I find this very difficult especially when I didn’t have the safety net a press pass gives me.

It was also a good opportunity for my daughter to see mummy at work and learn what to do and not to do when it comes to photographing in public spaces.

So here is to the first 30 Day Photo Project of 2024.

  • EK13 / 30 Day Photo Project – June 2023 Edition

To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place… I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.

    Elliott Erwitt

Sometime late last year, I received an email from the Shutter Hub that they were going to host a meet-up of night photography led by NIGHT MOODS curator, Justin Carey.

For a long time, I have always wanted to try night photography, but I never got a chance to do so until I saw this opportunity. I went to the meet-up with no expectations other than enjoy meeting new photographers and doing what I have always wanted to do in the safety of a group of other photograpers.

The photo walk happened in January and surprisingly, on one of the mildest winter nights. Don’t get me wrong, it was cold and windy, but it was not as bad and we somehow missed the rain on that night.

On the day, I really regretted not carrying my tripod, but I still ended up with some pretty decent photos. However, they are not enough and I will have to top them up by the end of the month. Which will be a challenge in itself as the days are now longer than they were in January. It’s summer!

Anyway, these are the photos I will be sharing for my June 2023 Edition of the 30 Day Photo Project.

As always, if any of the images look decent enough, I will be adding them to my PRINT SHOP later this year.

  • EK13 / 30 Day Photo Project – April 2023 Edition

I give myself permission to just make for the sake of making without any thought to the outcome, which can be surprisingly hard. … What I would tell my younger self is this: There is no ‘right’ way to make art. The only wrong is in not trying, not doing. Don’t put barriers up that aren’t there — just get to work and make something.

    Lisa Golightly

    I just love inspirational quotes.

The one shared here speaks to how I am feeling at the moment, more so now than ever as I have been still been experiencing some sort of creative rut, but I am taking it as my body just letting me rest/reset for what is to come.

I am choosing to use the #30DayPhotoProject as my excuse to snap out of it and here we are kick-starting the 2023 edition.

I have said it before and I say it again, I started this project as a way to keep myself in the creative bubble. Even when I do not feel like creating or sharing any of my work, I would like for the #30DayProject to continue to be the push I need to keep me motivated. However, there are moments I have found myself wanting to stop the project all together. Will 2023 be the last one?

    Anyway, enough rumbling from me.

For the April 2023 edition, I still have rolls of film that I am yet to develop, scan, edit and share with you. What better way to start with what I know best than sharing with you a roll of film images?

With this film roll, I happen to attend a workshop in Photofusion late last year and another early this year. The first was to develop a roll of black and white film and the other was to print in the dark room. Unlike previous film rolls where I had forgotten what images I took, I happen to know some of the images in this one.

As always, if any of the images look decent enough, I will be adding them to my PRINT SHOP later this year.

    The Rules

    1. To post one frame per day.
    2. No captions. Just the photo.
    3. All photos from the roll will be posted. Even the ‘dead’ frames.
