Landscape photography is the supreme test of the photographer – and often the supreme disappointment.

Welcome back to the final instalment of the 30 Day Photo Project for 2024.
For this edition, I will be sharing photos I took on a photowalk I organised in October to Epping Forest. This walk for me was a chance to get out, network with fellow creatives and of course, move my body. 😌
The walk also gave me a chance to test out a lens from Sigma, their new RF 10-18mm f2.8 DC DN ultra wide zoom lens made specifically for APS-C mirrorless cameras like the Canon R7.
Thank you for the loan Sigma. I really enjoyed using the lens.
Using the lens on my R7 was quite a learning curve, coming from DSLR and also, having not used an ultra wide lens like this before was interesting. I focused more on how wide I could go, in the scene I was in and also, I noticed how good the lens was at ‘macro’ photography. My goal here was to just play around with the lens and enjoy being outside.
Another thing I tested the lens on was using it for filming ‘talking heads’ for my YouTube channel (I will upload video on this soon) and it did an amazing job compared to my Canon M50* kit lens, the EF-M 15-45mm f3.5-6.3 STM. If I was to choose, I would go for the Sigma lens.
Anyway, before I digress any further and make this a technical blog, of which it is not, let’s share the images I took during the walk.
As always, if any of the images look decent enough, I will be adding them to my PRINT SHOP which I will be relaunching in 2025.
Until April 2025, enjoy this final edition of the 30 Day Photo Project of 2024 and I will see blog you next month or year! ✌🏾
